Pharmaceutical serial number verification and aggregation production line
Unique code control

Verify every serial number and stop duplicate or invalid codes

Variable serial numbers only create traceability when every printed value is readable, valid and unique. Our systems capture each code in real time, apply format and sequence rules, and compare it with an approved data source before the pack is released.

Application focus

Control unique identity at the point of production

The inspection can confirm expected prefixes, character sets, check digits, sequence ranges and duplicate status. Where serials are commissioned or supplied by another system, the captured value can be checked against the authorised batch and its result returned to the line controller.

Good product tracking also requires clear handling of unreadable codes, rework and rejected items. We define result states, data handshakes and physical reject confirmation as part of the functional design.

Designed around the risk

What the system helps you achieve

01

Stop duplicate identities

02

Protect traceability records

03

Control rework routes

04

Synchronise line and database state

A proven project route

From sample to a production-ready inspection

We define the pass criteria first, prove the imaging and data logic, then integrate the complete inspection and reject sequence.

1

Application review

Product, code, substrate, speed, line layout and data requirements.

2

Sample trials

Optics, lighting, resolution and achievable tolerance tested on real packs.

3

System integration

Camera, controls, guarding, reject and upstream interfaces engineered together.

4

Commissioning

Recipes, fault handling, training and agreed acceptance tests completed.

Common questions

What manufacturers ask us

Every line is different. These are the practical questions that shape a dependable barcode verification project.

Ask an engineer
How are duplicate serial numbers detected?+

Captured values are checked against the active production dataset or a maintained history, with the response time and retention period defined for the required throughput.

Can the system connect to our database?+

Yes. Common integration routes include SQL databases, APIs, file exchange, PLC tags and message-based interfaces. The final method depends on your existing platform.

What happens if the database is unavailable?+

A controlled fail-safe response can stop the line, quarantine product or buffer results. The required behaviour is agreed during the functional specification.
